1. Get a Professional

This is usually the best form of teeth whitening. The results are very long lasting compared to all of the other methods. The problem with getting a dental professional to whiten your teeth is the price tag.

Dentists can charge upwards of $500 for teeth whitening which is out of most people’s budgets.

If you want some extremely long lasting results, and have the money to burn, this method may be right for you.

2. Hydrogen Peroxide and Baking Soda

Does using hydrogen peroxide really whiten your teeth? In part, yes it does.

However, this is really a method you should stay away from unless you're really broke (hydrogen peroxide only costs about $1 at most drug stores) and are desperate for whiter teeth.

Hydrogen peroxide is now getting a lot of flak for eroding tooth enamel. This is not a good thing!

If you use this mechanism for teeth whitening, you will need to continually use it (almost daily) to keep the results.

3. Teeth Whitening Systems

These are the most popular approach to teeth whitening. They give fairly strong results and are fairly low cost. The problem with teeth whitening systems is that the results tend to be fairly short lived.

If you go with this method, be prepared to touch up your pearly whites every 1-2 months.

Bonus Tip: Don’t use a teeth whitening product just because it’s cheap. Make sure it contains high quality ingredients that are stable, or you’ll end up damaging your teeth. One of the most important areas of health is actually dental hygiene. It is so important because it can lead to other diseases in other parts of the body. Gum disease is probably one of the most common forms of oral diseases. It is not only irritating, but can also be difficult to treat if oral health is ignored for too long. So what causes gum disease? Actually, many different things can cause it, but there are also various treatments and ways to prevent gum disease.

Gum disease is a condition that causes inflamed gums, rotting them slowly away, and, if left untreated, then it can destroy the whole structure of the mouth and jaw. Gingivitis is actually a gum infection. Early stages will appear as swollen, red, sensitive teeth and gums, and it can progress rapidly from there. Teenagers, pregnant women and women in menopause are at a higher risk as well. There are many different treatment methods for gum disease as well. Depending on what first causes gum disease, treatments will be different. There are certain vitamins that can be taken to treat gum disease, such as zinc, copper, vitamin E, vitamin A and folic acid, which are all important for a healthy mouth and gum line. One alternative treatment for gingivitis is to drink warm water with lemon every day. In Chinese medicine, a liver cleanse is done to help the health of the mouth, because they believe that the health of the liver affects the health of the mouth. There are also many herbal treatment methods, such as brushing the teeth with baking soda, placing aloe vera on the gums, and other such treatments. Dentists will advise rinsing the mouth with salt water, as well as offering different anesthetic ointments to ease the soreness of the gums. In the worst case scenario, gum surgery is performed to tighten the gums back into place.

No one really wants to get gum disease. It is actually pretty easy to prevent through regular brushing and flossing. This will ensure that you have healthy gums and teeth. Smokers have to be extra careful about preventing gum disease because they are at a higher risk. What causes gum disease can be anything from lack of brushing to an infection caught somewhere. Even so, there are a lot of treatments for gum disease, so there is no real reason to worry.

So, why is gum disease considered a silent epidemic? It is not just because it can cause you to lose your teeth. It is not just because it can lead to heart disease. It is not just because gum disease has even been linked to certain types of cancer and other potentially fatal conditions and problems.

This is a silent epidemic because so many people have it without even realizing it. It is a silent epidemic because the symptoms are so innocuous in the beginning that it is far too easy for people to ignore them.

It is thus imperative that you go to great pains to take care of yourself and your teeth. Naturally, twice (or more) yearly checkups with your dentist are a must.
